I am contacting you to let you know that i am opposed to you politicizing the rose parade by having a "live, gay wedding" . the rose parade has always been about themes that usually unite Americans, rather than divide. The issue of gay marriage is too divisive and by having a "live, gay wedding" the Tournament of Roses is putting their stamp of approval on an ethical, moral, issue that people need to truly grapple with in light of our God's intentions for the world. Our young people, especially, need to know they have an option to make up their own mind on the subject without having it forced upon them by the mainstream media or other large, popular, organizations. If you merely wished to include a gay organization in the parade that would be one thing, but by approving a "live, gay wedding" you are aiming for maximum publicity . Shame on you. The rose parade has always stood out in my mind as a very quality organization, with highest standards, but now you are compromising values & ethics; and, ironically,if your quest is to be "fair" to all agendas, this is very unfair to the traditional values side of the equation. I dont know how this came about,...who (singular or plural) is making this happen, etc, but its wrong and shameless...and im not even talking about the issue of gay marriage but about the rose parade endorsement of a divisive issue.-vk-
