MaryStar of the Sea San Pedro, another non-Harrigan...I attended mass thinking Harrigan might be there but
it was somebody else...I remember Harrigan from Holy Trinity in Atwater Village (L.A.)...he was a decent fellow but a bit too concerned about simply running a tight ship..good at "conducting" but what about "heart"...did/does he really care for the people he serves? I think that may be one of the most difficult things for catholic priests (and pastors in general) to develop..a true sense of care & devotion to the sheep they are shepherding...as opposed to "people movers"...getting us in and out..doing the homily..handing the host...setting the schedule...etc..being an "administrator" is different than being a caring person...really what the people need & want more than a "father" is a "brother"... ; it takes time for this to develop...some priests/pastors never get there..; others become great shepherds..
