..first of all, it "sold out" really quick...meaning they didn't have enough room...but then frank sontag came on the radio the day before the conference and said that they would try to accomodate walk-ins although we might not get breakfast (for $10). SO I arrived just wanting to hear a few speakers, but then the gal at "registration" told us to sign-up on the "standby" list. There were already 20 or more names. She also seemed so "perfunctory" in talking to me, calling me "sir" , when we should be "brothers & sisters" at Christian events. But then remember KKLA is a FOR-PROFIT radio station. That changes the tenor of everything when you try to make a profit off of Christian programming. SOmetimes there's a value shift that is not compatible with the faith. Nonetheless. I generally respect & support KKLA and especially enjoyed the Frank Pastore show back in the day. But they could have SIMPLY avoided this problem by moving the speaking portion of the event to the sanctuary (much larger)
so there would be no need for standby.
