10/8/13 OHIO SCHOOL MUST PAY ACLU $95,000 for JESUS PORTRAIT ON WALL, (even if you don't believe in Jesus as savior, or as son of God,divine, et al, most people,including non-believers, agree that Jesus existed historically. And even if they don't agree about His impact, the fact is that Jesus is an important historical figure, to put it mildly. As such, why can't Jesus be on the wall just like Abraham Lincoln, Winston Churchhill, Ghandi, et al ?! And if a public school didn't teach about Jesus as well as other historical figures of various religions, they would be mis-educating their students. Union.
The Jackson City School District, located in
Jackson, reached a deal on Friday after the
ACLU, along with the Wisconsin-based
Freedom from Religion Foundation, sued
the district in February, citing
"unconstitutional" actions and charging that
students and visitors to the school "will
continue to suffer permanent, severe and
irreparable harm and injury," according to
the lawsuit.
The picture had been hanging in Jackson's
high school since 1947 as part of a "Hall of
Honor" display meant to highlight famous
historical figures...."
