(yes, good!) re "praying 4 those not of this fold" ron rolheiser (tidings, 5/8/15)

note: ron writes some very insightful articles, including this one. One observation I've made as a frequent attender of various Catholic churches (& listener to Catholic radio) is that their evangelism is specifically so that people will become catholics (as opposed to believers in Christ, in general). Of course all denominations & various branches of Christian faith hope that they will get more members into their own specific church or denomination, it behooves all of us to be mostly concerned that people become believers, and secondarily that they become specifically members of "our fold" whether it is Catholic, Baptist, CRC, RCA, orthodox, calvary chapel, saddleback, et al.

"Dear Bishops,

I write to you as a loyal son of the Catholic Church, with a particular request: Could you make an addition to our present Eucharistic Prayers to include an explicit invocation for other Christian Churches and for those who lead them?

For example, could the prayer for the Church and its leadership in our various Eucharistic Canons have these additions: Remember, Lord, your entire Church, spread throughout the world, and bring her to the fullness of charity, together with N. our Pope and N. our Bishop, together with all who help lead other Christian Churches, and all the clergy." Might our Eucharistic Prayers have this kind of inclusivity?..."
